At ResearchGate’s headquarters in Berlin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Philipp Rösler will gain insight into how the professional network for scientists is leading research into the digital age.
Berlin, Germany – March 1, 2013 – German chancellor Angela Merkel and federal minister of economics and technology Philipp Rösler will visit ResearchGate, the professional network for scientists, on March 7, 2013 in Berlin.
On a company tour, co-founder and CEO of ResearchGate Ijad Madisch will tell Chancellor Merkel and Minister Rösler about how the professional network is making science more efficient and leading it into the digital age.
Madisch is delighted about the visit: "The visit of Chancellor Angela Merkel and Federal Minister of Economic Rösler shows us that we’re on the right path – as trailblazers both in science and in the German startup scene."
During the half-hour appointment, Madisch will also speak about the decision to found the company in Berlin rather than in Silicon Valley. Madisch says: "Berlin is already the center for startups in Europe. To foster the city's growth, it has to become even easier for highly skilled international experts to relocate to Germany."
ResearchGate's investors will attend the visit. Among others, Matt Cohler of Benchmark, one of the first employees of Facebook and co-founder of LinkedIn, and Joachim Schoss, entrepreneur and co-founder of the Scout24 group, will greet Chancellor Merkel and Minister Rösler at ResearchGate.
