ResearchGate and AIP Publishing expand Journal Home partnership across full journal portfolio

April 2, 2026
Expanded agreement covering all AIP Publishing proprietary journals, includes activating Community Engagement Upgrade and Open Access Agreement Upgrade for all titles.

Berlin (Germany) and Melville (New York), 2 April, 2026 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and AIP Publishing have renewed their Journal Home partnership which covers AIP Publishing’s full owned journal portfolio, spanning all open access (OA), hybrid, and subscription titles. AIP Publishing has also activated the entire suite of ResearchGate enhancements, including the Community Engagement Upgrade (CEU), which connects researchers to key content in the journals that serve their community, and the Open Access Agreement Upgrade (OAAU), which makes it easier for authors to discover funding opportunities available to them through AIP Publishing’s agreements with institutions globally.

The renewed agreement equips AIP Publishing journal teams with an even more powerful, integrated way to grow their journals, bringing together discovery, community engagement, and deeper insights into one connected experience.

Since launching the partnership in December 2022 with five OA journals, AIP Publishing has seen consistent growth in international readership and authorship from ResearchGate’s global community of more than 25million+ researcher members. With the addition of the CEU and expanded activation of the OAAU, Journal Home now supports a broader range of journal development priorities, enabling editors to gain deeper community insight, drive commissioning and community-building activity, and deliver clearer, more timely guidance on OA funding opportunities for authors.

“Our Journal Home partnership delivers real, sustained results for AIP Publishing journals,” said Sara Girard, Head of Marketing and Communications, AIP Publishing. “By extending Journal Home with the CEU and OAAU, we’re gaining deeper visibility into our audiences and making it easier for authors to understand their open access publishing options.”

“With the strong impact AIPP has achieved over the last 3 years, we’re delighted to expand our Journal Home partnership with AIP Publishing,” said Mathias Astell, VP of Commercial Product, ResearchGate. “The CEU and OAAU even further enhance Journal Home’s ability for AIPP journals to connect more effectively with researchers worldwide, accelerating the discovery, dissemination and access of high-quality physics research and supporting long-term impact for AIPP’s journals.”
