Berlin (Germany) and Budapest (Hungary), July 31, 2025 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and Akadémiai Kiadó (AK), the publishing house of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, today announced an expansion of their Journal Home partnership that will continue to grow high-quality submissions and global authorship for a larger part of AK’s journal portfolio.
The expanded Journal Home partnership has more than doubled the number of AK journals on the ResearchGate platform and now includes a total of 14 publications across the Microbiology, Taxonomy, Psychedelics, and Physiology disciplines. All of these journals will now benefit from greater visibility, engagement, and brand profile with ResearchGate’s network of 25+ million researcher members and gain access to these unique Journal Home features:
The partnership also enhances the author experience, with the immediate upload of new articles to author profile pages on ResearchGate and sophisticated insights into the impact of their work, enabling more meaningful connection with readers.
“Since the beginning of our Journal Home partnership, we have seen growth in the global visibility of, and engagement with, our journals,” said Erna Sári, Head of Marketing at Akadémiai Kiadó. “The decision to expand the partnership ensures easier access to more of AK’s journal portfolio, facilitating our mission to promote exceptional science, scientists, and information exchange amongst researchers.”
“With this expansion, AK will uncover new audiences and authors for their journals,” said Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate. “Journal Home’s innovative offering and seamless user experience delivers global visibility for its content while supporting better service and greater engagement opportunities for AK authors. By attracting a broader pool of researchers, the expanded partnership will help AK grow its author base and further strengthen its publishing model.”
