Berlin (Germany) and Melbourne (Australia), 19 March, 2026 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and CSIRO Publishing, Australia's leading science publisher of books, peer-reviewed journals, and science news, have today announced a significant extension of their Journal Home partnership following a successful first year of collaboration. 

The expanded agreement now includes over half of the journals in CSIRO Publishing’s portfolio, spanning both hybrid and fully open access (OA) titles across environment, ecology, and health sciences. Over the past year, participating journals have seen strong growth in international readership, authorship and engagement, connecting with highly targeted researchers across ResearchGate’s global community of more than 25 million members. 

Through Journal Home, CSIRO Publishing journals benefit from:

• Increased discoverability and article usage through seamless syndication of full-text content on ResearchGate
• Dedicated Journal Profiles that strengthen brand visibility and journal identity
• Targeted amplification across article pages, feeds, and member notifications
• Continuous engagement with researchers throughout the research and publishing lifecycle, supporting both readership and high-quality authorship.

Building on this momentum, all participating journals will now activate the Open Access Agreement Upgrade (OAAU), designed to increase awareness and uptake of open access through CSIRO Publishing’s institutional agreements. 

The OAAU will:

• Inform researchers when they are eligible for OA funding through their institution
• Identify and guide researchers who qualify for automatic fee waivers (including Research4Life countries) 
• Deliver journal-specific, contextual messaging, tailored to individual researchers based on subject relevance and their engagement
• Provide advanced reporting and analytics, enabling CSIRO Publishing to measure the effectiveness of funding-related communications throughout the publishing journey.
