Berlin (Germany) and Vilnius (Lithuania) April 9, 2024 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and Extrica, the innovative open science publisher, today announced a new partnership that will see a range of Extrica’s open access engineering journals available through ResearchGate’s Journal Home offering.
All version-of-record content from the participating journals, including both archive and newly published articles, will be accessible to the 25m+ members on ResearchGate.
The partnership will also enhance the visibility of these journals, with dedicated journal profiles activated on the platform – providing key information and content from journals, as well as uniquely enabling ResearchGate members to explore directly how their own community is connected to a journal. Prominent journal branding on all associated article pages and other relevant touchpoints will further increase the profile of the journals with relevant researcher audiences globally through ResearchGate.
Authors will additionally benefit from their research in these journals being automatically added to their profiles on ResearchGate, with more than 2,100 authors already receiving valuable new insights on who is reading and citing their work.
“We at Extrica are thrilled to start our partnership with ResearchGate, a collaboration that marks a step forward for our published content to reach wider communities!” said Extrica’s Chief Executive Officer, Mangirdas Ragulskis, adding:
“There is currently a crisis in publishing – with huge volumes of papers and problems with paper mills. We believe smaller, innovative publishers, like Extrica, are key to supporting research – we choose quality over quantity and are able to work closely with all stakeholders in the publishing lifecycle to make sure no mistakes are made. Nevertheless being small can make it hard to be seen. That’s why me and my team are always exploring ways to increase the reach and visibility of the good quality, peer-reviewed research that is being consistently published in Extrica journals. For these reasons, I am super excited for Extrica journals to be active on ResearchGate. ResearchGate and Extrica share a common goal to drive innovation in the industry, making our partnership a natural one. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration with ResearchGate and are eager to see the positive impacts this partnership will bring to our authors, readers, and the wider research community and how research will progress.”
“Extrica’s partnership is further evidence that Journal Home can enable publishers of all shapes and sizes to boost their visibility and engagement globally,” said Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate. “We’re pleased to be taking this first step with Extrica on this partnership and are really looking forward to working together.”
