This expanded partnership increases the visibility of water research and helps eligible researchers identify when they can publish article processing charge (APC)-free Open Access through their institution’s agreement.
Berlin (Germany) and London (UK), 6 August, 2026 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and IWA Publishing, part of the International Water Association, and a leading publisher on all aspects of water, wastewater and the environment since 1966, today announced the expansion of their Journal Home partnership.
The expanded partnership increases the visibility and discoverability of IWA Publishing's content across ResearchGate's global community of more than 25 million researchers. It alerts researchers to APC-free Open Access publishing opportunities available where their institution has an agreement in place with IWA Publishing.
Building on a successful first year of collaboration, the partnership gives IWA Publishing greater insight into how researchers discover and engage with its journal content. This strengthens relationships with authors and readers while supporting the continued growth, accessibility, reach and impact of the journals.
"Our role is to help researchers discover relevant water research and make publishing with IWA Publishing as straightforward as possible.” said Andrew Thompson, Head of Marketing, IWA Publishing. “This expanded partnership increases the visibility of our journals while helping eligible researchers identify APC-free Open Access opportunities through their institution."
"IWA Publishing's mission to advance water management research and practices worldwide is one we're proud to champion," said Robyn Mugridge, Head of Partnership Development at ResearchGate. "This expanded agreement takes their global reach to the next level. Activating Journal Home’s full suite of features, including our new Community Engagement Upgrade, will give their editorial teams the insights they need to connect with the right readers and authors and drive real impact across our network."
