ResearchGate and SAE International announce Journal Home partnership for complete portfolio of leading engineering journals

January 22, 2026

Berlin (Germany) and Warrendale (USA), 22 January, 2026 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and SAE International, the leading global association of engineers and technical experts, today announced a new Journal Home partnership covering its full portfolio of 11 journals across engineering and mobility research. This agreement marks a significant step in supporting SAE’s mission to advance mobility knowledge and solutions for the benefit of humanity.

Founded in 1905, SAE International has grown into one of the world’s leading publishers of engineering standards, mobility research, and technical insight. Through Journal Home, SAE’s journals will now be made available directly to ResearchGate’s community of more than 25 million researchers, including all open access content in its hybrid journals. The Journal Home partnership will support SAE International in driving brand awareness, readership, and citations across its full journal portfolio. Through this agreement, SAE’s publications will benefit from:

  • Increased article usage and readership, with content surfaced to researchers where they are already reading and engaging with related work.
  • Growth in new and returning authorship, supported by contextual visibility across relevant areas of the ResearchGate network.
  • Improved author experience, including automatic uploads to author profiles, meaningful engagement indicators, and clearer pathways for reader interaction.
  • Enhanced journal visibility and branding, with dedicated Journal Profiles and prominent journal placement that strengthens identity and supports audience development.

This partnership brings SAE’s research closer to the engineering communities that rely on it, supporting citation growth, new readership, and ongoing engagement throughout the research cycle.

“SAE International has long been committed to advancing mobility research and supporting engineers and technical experts around the world and our Journal Home partnership allows us to reach more of the global community we serve,” said Kimberly Martin, Editorial Director of Journals, SAE International. “Strengthening engagement with practicing researchers and innovators and ensures that our high-quality mobility research is easier to discover, share, and apply.”

“We’re delighted to welcome SAE International to Journal Home,” said Sebastian Darr, Global Head of Business Development, ResearchGate. “SAE’s journals play an important role in shaping innovation in engineering and mobility. By connecting their publications to ResearchGate’s global researcher network, this partnership helps SAE’s journals reach the right researcher communities and deepen the impact of this research worldwide.”
