ResearchGate and SLACK Journals expand Journal Home partnership after strong first-year performance

May 21, 2026

Berlin (Germany) and Thorofare, NJ (USA) [DATE], 2026 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and SLACK Journals, part of the Wyanoke Group and trusted publisher of specialty medical content for more than 60 years, have announced the expansion of their Journal Home partnership, increasing the number of participating journals to now include SLACK’s full portfolio of proprietary journals.

The new agreement builds on a successful first year for SLACK on Journal Home, during which participating journals saw a substantial uplift in usage for both entitled and open access (OA) content. The expansion will extend these benefits to all of SLACK’s proprietary journals, delivering increased visibility, engagement and recognition across the medical and health care communities.

The expanded partnership will extend the reach of SLACK’s journals across ResearchGate’s network of over 25 million researchers. Journals in the agreement will benefit from:

  • Growth in authorship, by connecting SLACK journals with relevant clinicians and researchers across the research lifecycle, from readership through to submission
  • Consistent growth in readership of both subscription and OA content, with full-text content seamlessly delivered to relevant medical and healthcare communities on ResearchGate
  • Stronger journal visibility and positioning, supported by dedicated Journal Profiles and prominent presence across the ResearchGate platform
  • Enhanced author services, including automatic article sharing, performance insights, and new networking opportunities

“We have been pleased with the response to our initial collaboration with Journal Home, and the results have exceeded our expectations," said Tony Schiavo, Senior Vice President, SLACK Journals. "The detailed analytics we can access via Journal Home's dashboard have created opportunities to reach new readers, new authors and new subscribers. Based on these promising results from year one, we have decided to expand our presence on Journal Home to include all of our proprietary journals."

“SLACK Journals’ first year performance on Journal Home is a testament to the value of connecting the right researchers with content that is most relevant to them,” said Robyn Mugridge, Head of Partnership Development at ResearchGate. “We are pleased to support SLACK’s growing portfolio and our shared commitment to strengthening connections between authors, their work, and the research communities they serve.”
