ResearchGate and the American Society for Horticultural Science announce new Journal Home partnership

June 25, 2026

Berlin (Germany) and Alexandria (Virginia, USA), 25 June, 2026 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS), a leading international society advancing horticultural science through research, education, and community engagement, today announced a new Journal Home partnership covering ASHS's full journal portfolio. Through the partnership, ASHS will extend the international reach of its society journals and strengthen ties with authors and readers worldwide.

Founded in 1903, ASHS promotes scientific research and education in horticulture in all its branches. With more than 2,400 members across 60 countries, the society brings together researchers, educators, students, and industry leaders who focus on developing practical solutions to benefit people and the planet through horticultural science.

The new partnership includes all of ASHS's peer-reviewed, open access journals, including: HortScience, HortTechnology, and the Journal of the American Society for Horticultural Science. Through Journal Home, all journals will benefit from:

  • Increased usage and readership of ASHS’s open access content through immediate delivery to relevant horticultural and plant science researchers within ResearchGate’s global community of 25 million+ members.
  • Extended opportunities to grow author submissions by connecting ASHS journal content with established and emerging researchers across key horticultural science disciplines.
  • Dedicated Journal Profiles that build long-term visibility and recognition of ASHS's journals within the global research community.
  • Exclusive author services, including automatic upload of published articles to author profiles and valuable metrics that help authors understand how their work is being read, shared, and cited.

"Our new Journal Home partnership helps ensure that the research published in ASHS journals reaches the global audiences who can build upon it and apply it," said Tracy Shawn, Chief Executive Officer, American Society for Horticultural Science. "Supporting our authors and advancing horticultural science are central to our mission, and Journal Home provides unique opportunities to strengthen both."

"Journal Home provides powerful tools to grow engagement, usage, authorship and recognition for ASHS journals at an international level," said Robyn Mugridge, Head of Partnership Development at ResearchGate. "By connecting these journals with relevant horticultural researcher communities, Journal Home will help extend the reach of ASHS’s trusted research and support its impact across horticultural science, education, and practice.”
