Berlin (Germany) and Baech (Switzerland), 5 June, 2025 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and Trans Tech Publications (the creators of Scientific.Net), the publisher of high-demand scientific content focused on materials science and engineering, today announced the expansion of their Journal Home partnership. The partnership now includes all 18 journals from Trans Tech’s portfolio and additionally activates ResearchGate’s revolutionary Open Access Agreement Upgrade for all titles – making open access funding opportunities more visible and accessible to potential authors.
Trans Tech Publications' partnership with ResearchGate began in 2024 with seven journals. These titles quickly experienced increased engagement from new authors and an uplift in high quality submissions. With this expansion, all 18 Trans Tech journals, both fully open access (OA) and hybrid journals, now benefit from Journal Home’s unique community engagement and content discovery features. These include dedicated Journal Profiles for each title; journal access and branding on all article pages; and integration into all member touchpoints, including feeds, profiles, searches, recommendations, and more – boosting engagement with journals and content through ResearchGate’s 25 million+ researcher members globally. Journal Home helps Trans Tech engage relevant researchers throughout their research lifecycle, driving new submissions and increasing author loyalty.
The expanded partnership also includes the Open Access Agreement Upgrade (OAAU) which enhances the discoverability of OA funding opportunities under institutional agreements. This fosters broader uptake of OA and provides Trans Tech with:
“Our Journal Home partnership with ResearchGate is already driving strong engagement with new authors and helping us to attract high quality submissions from researchers globally,” said Anne Kristin Wohlbier, co-owner and CEO at Trans Tech Publications. “We are excited to build on this success by incorporating the OAAU into our partnership and making OA publishing even easier and more effective for our authors.”
“Our relationship with Trans Tech Publications has already demonstrated the positive impact that increased journal discoverability and access through Journal Home has on building engagement for individual journals,” said Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate. “Now, our extended partnership will help even more researchers to discover Trans Tech’s journals and access relevant OA funding opportunities.”
