At ResearchGate, our mission is to connect the world of science and make research open to all. To achieve this, we have partnered with scientific publishers through our Journal Home offering – connecting ResearchGate’s community of 25M+ researchers with the journals and content they require.
Up to now, Journal Home has included:
This has provided unparalleled access to new and highly relevant audiences for partner journals, along with rich data on how researchers engage with their content and journals. But this is just the beginning! Today, we are pleased to announce Journal Home improvements that will further expand journal representation on the ResearchGate platform.
We’ve upgraded and expanded the presence of journals on ResearchGate through multiple new journal touchpoints that now accompany users as they organically navigate the platform and discover new content.
These new and expanded touchpoints help researchers identify journals relevant to them and easily access more information through dedicated Journal Profiles. This way, researchers can further explore the latest research and make informed decisions on their publishing options.
The main benefits of this update for journals are:
1. Improved discoverability
The journal profiles under a Journal Home subscription are more easily discoverable, with journal information and profile links activated wherever there is journal content available throughout the platform.
2. Journals kept top of mind
By covering all stages of the research cycle, ResearchGate helps to keep journals top of mind throughout the research process. With improved accessibility to journal profiles, researchers can effortlessly revisit and engage with the journals they find valuable, establishing a recurring connection throughout their research journey.
3. Increased visibility
With journal representations added to several touchpoints across the ResearchGate experience, journals increase their visibility and participation in the research ecosystem, attracting a wider and more diverse researcher audience and gaining greater recognition.
This update empowers journal owners to increase their journals’ visibility and build stronger connections with highly relevant communities of researchers.
Below we showcase some examples of the additional touchpoints where we’ve improved journal discoverability.
