We’d like to announce the latest enhancement to our Journal Home product – an upgrade to the Journal Profile on ResearchGate. This upgrade marks a transformation in how journals are discovered and engaged with on our platform.
The Journal Profile has always served as a vital repository of centralized journal information, content, and metrics – offering valuable insights to researchers, especially those considering authorship opportunities.
We’ve now amplified and personalized this experience – enhancing the discoverability of relevant journal content and enabling researchers to understand their personal and network connections with a journal. In doing this, we have created a more distinctive and engaging presence for journals on the platform – highlighting the community around them and making Journal Profiles an essential part of the content discovery journey on ResearchGate.
New and personalized look: creating a unique presence on ResearchGate
With a revamped layout and brand-aligned gradient background, publishers can have a unique presence on our platform and provide readers and potential authors with an enhanced user experience. We've also aimed to increase our partner journals' credibility in the platform by introducing the ResearchGate Partner Badge.

Top-read publications: expanding content discovery
We recognize that a journal’s content is a fundamental way in which researchers engage with journals. With this in mind, we’ve introduced the new "top-read publications" section to showcase journals’ most-read articles on ResearchGate in the last 30 days. This section highlights popular research, making it easier for readers to explore and discover relevant papers from specific journals. Not only does this enhance the visibility of the publications that are trending on ResearchGate, but it also encourages further exploration of and engagement with the journals’ content.
Paired with our latest improvements on journal discoverability – where multiple access points to the journal profile were added across the ResearchGate platform – this upgrade enhances journal content discovery, and drives journal awareness right from the start of the publishing cycle.

Social connections: building credibility and community
We've also introduced a new "social connections" section. This addition shows users which of their network connections have published in the journal. With this update, we strive to elevate a journal's credibility, foster community-building, and increase users' understanding of their connection to journals.
Social connections before and after
At ResearchGate, we understand that building meaningful connections with the global scholarly community is crucial to publishing success. We are confident this upgrade will elevate the journals’ presence on our platform and help further build the community and network around them.
