ResearchGate and American Speech-Language-Hearing Association sign new multi-year Journal Home agreement for full portfolio

February 27, 2025

Berlin (Germany) and Rockville, MD (USA) February 27, 2025 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, has announced a new multi-year Journal Home partnership with the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) that will benefit ASHA’s full portfolio of five journals featuring award-winning and critical research content for professionals in communication sciences and disorders.

ASHA’s journals are American Journal of Audiology; American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology; Journal of Speech, Language and Hearing Research; Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools; and Perspectives of the ASHA Special Interest Groups.

Because of the new ResearchGate and ASHA partnership, these journals will benefit from:

  • Boosted brand presence, with dedicated journal profile pages featuring information about each journal and article content, prominent branding on article pages, and across other member touchpoints on ResearchGate.
  • Continuous engagement with authors throughout their researcher cycle and beyond the published article – building deeper relationships with relevant author communities, attracting new authors, and increasing author loyalty.
  • New author services, including automatic uploading of articles to member profile pages, engagement metrics, and new opportunities for interactions with readers.
  • Seamless syndication of all full-text article content to ResearchGate, building visibility and readership among ResearchGate’s highly relevant community of 25+ million researcher members.
  • Rich insights on readers and their interactions with ASHA journals and, through their growing engagement, the opportunity to grow authorship.

“For nearly 90 years, our journals portfolio has delivered important research to ASHA members and the speech-language pathology and audiology communities worldwide,” said Mike Cannon, Senior Publishing Director at ASHA. “Now, through Journal Home, we can build the reach and influence of these titles with a greater international readership, growing citations, engagement, and authorship.”

Cannon added: “Through the partnership, and as the readership of our journals grows, we will be very interested in expanding the reach and impact of our authors from within ResearchGate’s highly engaged membership”

“We’re delighted to help ASHA’s important research reach a broader readership through Journal Home, bringing its rich knowledge to practitioners and researchers across speech-language and audiology,” said Sören Hofmayer, co-founder and Chief Strategy Officer at ResearchGate. “Increasing engagement with the international research community delivers a positive effect for the journals’ editors and publishing teams, as more reviewers and more authors identify these journals as the home for their community.”
