ResearchGate and Cambridge University Press expands Journal Home partnership, including new Community Engagement Upgrade

March 26, 2026

Berlin (Germany) and Cambridge (UK), 26 March, 2026 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and Cambridge University Press, the publishing arm of the University of Cambridge, today announced a significant expansion of their Journal Home partnership after a successful first year in the program. The broadened agreement increases coverage for 29 journals, across a range of subject areas and including hybrid journals for the first time, and also now incorporates ResearchGate’s new Community Engagement Upgrade (CEU).

Journal Home supports Cambridge University Press’s goal of increasing both high-quality authorship and readership across its portfolio, while enhancing journal visibility and strengthening engagement between editors, authors, and relevant research communities. The expanded partnership includes journals across medicine, psychiatry, engineering and mathematics.

Through Journal Home, Cambridge University Press’s participating journals will benefit from:

  • Increased connection with relevant researcher communities worldwide through ResearchGate’s active network of more than 25 million researchers, supporting both new and returning authorship
  • Improved author experience, with automatic article uploads, new tools for reader interaction, and engagement metrics that help authors understand the reach of their work
  • Enhanced journal visibility, including expanded Journal Profiles and upgraded branding across ResearchGate

The addition of the Community Engagement Upgrade (CEU) will further empower Cambridge University Press’s journal teams to build deeper, more strategic relationships with their authors and readers.

The CEU offers:

  • Rich audience insights, giving editors and journal staff access to new demographic data about their journal communities, including who is reading, citing, recommending, and following their content
  • Targeted content features, enabling journal teams to highlight key articles to highly relevant audiences across ResearchGate, growing readership and impact for Cambridge University Press’s journals
  • Enhanced editor experience, supporting Cambridge University Press journal editors with tools to support community-building through features like Editor Picks and Journal Stats, enabling them to more deeply understand their journals’ communities and engage their networks to grow the journal’s visibility and impact.

“Expanding our Journal Home partnership naturally supports our mission to spread knowledge and support research that advances learning worldwide,” said Andrew Sykes, Journals Marketing and Operations Director, Cambridge University Press. “With the added Community Engagement Upgrade we can further support our editors, deepen engagement with our journals, strengthen the delivery of trusted research, and uphold our commitment to excellence, accessibility, and lasting academic impact.”

“We’re thrilled to expand our partnership with Cambridge University Press and bring more of their diverse and high-quality journals to our global researcher community,” said Robyn Mugridge, Head of Partnership Development, ResearchGate. “With the addition of the Community Engagement Upgrade, Cambridge University Press’s editors will now benefit from powerful tools to grow engagement for their journals, enabling strategic journal development and community connection worldwide.”
