ResearchGate and University of California Press announce expansion of their Journal Home partnership

February 17, 2026

Berlin (Germany) and Oakland, CA (USA), 17th February, 2026 – ResearchGate, the professional network for researchers, and University of California Press (UC Press), one of the most forward-thinking scholarly publishers, today announced an expansion of their Journal Home partnership to cover a greater portion of UC Press’s journal portfolio and continue UC Press’s commitment to driving authorship and readership for participating journals.

UC Press began with a pilot of 5 journals in Journal Home and increased this to 15 titles after a successful first year of engaging new communities, growing usage and reaching new and existing authors. This latest agreement will now see 30 UC Press journals benefit from Journal Home’s enhanced visibility and engagement, increasing support across key disciplines including History, Sociology, Asian Studies, and Psychology. Building on the success of the initial collaboration, and now covering the majority of UC Press’ portfolio, the partnership will continue to improve discoverability and meaningful connection across ResearchGate’s network of more than 25 million+ researcher members.

Select UC Press journals will now benefit from:

  • Increased usage and readership, with full-text journal content seamlessly integrated into the platform and shown to more relevant researcher communities on ResearchGate.
  • Stronger engagement with authors and potential authors by connecting journals with researchers at every stage of the research lifecycle, from reading and sharing to submission.
  • Enhanced journal visibility and branding, with dedicated Journal Profiles that showcase journal scope, content, and connections within the ResearchGate community.
  • Improved author experience, including automatic addition of published articles to author profiles and insights into how their work is being read, shared, and cited.

“Our partnership with ResearchGate has allowed us to deepen our engagement with the research communities we serve,” said David Famiano, Journals Director, University of California Press. “Our Journal Homes—including syndicated content and entitlement data—have enabled more meaningful interactions with our content, and have provided our journals with an expanded international reach. We look forward to growing our ResearchGate Journal Home partnership in 2026.”

“We’re delighted with University of California Press’ decision to once again expand our Journal Home partnership,” said Mathias Astell, VP of Commercial Products at ResearchGate. “Their broadening coverage strengthens the visibility, usage, and authorship of their journals by connecting them with the most relevant researcher and author communities all over the world.”
